EDUCATIONAL TOUR
Tours for schools by advanced booking with the possibility of including educational activities on board combined with guided tours of the islands.
Here is one of our proposals departing from the pier at Tuoro sul Trasimeno:
Before boarding we go across 'Sun Park' (Parco del Sole) with its majestic sandstone sculptures, dedicating a few minutes to the retelling of their history.
We then climb aboard and after a few minutes of navigation catch sight of the hills where in 217 BC one of the most famous battles of the Second Punic War took place.
From there we navigate towards the islands Maggiore and Minore, rich in history, flora and fauna, and we'll have the possibility of revealing to the students the secrets, uses, costumes and curiosities of these two fascinating and mysterious islands.
Afterwards we set sail towards Castiglione del Lago and during navigation we introduce students to the antique and noble art of sailing knots. We help the children to follow the principal knots and explain the name and characteristics for the use of each.
From the shores of Castiglione del Lago, we admire the marvellous Leone Fortress, which rises above the remains of an Etruscan acropolis, in one of Italy's most beautiful villages.
Returning towards Tuoro, we begin scientific activity and analysis of Trasimeno's water. On request, it is possible to prolong the trip, organising a visit of Maggiore Island, with its unique museum itinerary.
The average duration of the trip is 4 to 5 hours. In general the activities and the duration are organised with the teachers, based on their educational requirements.
On board children will be offered snacks and bottled water. They will also have the possibility of buying our quality personalised souvenirs.
